MONTHLY MINUTES FOR: 14 November 2023

The opening ceremony for a regular meeting was conducted in accordance with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ritual; the meeting opened at 1105 hours by Post  Commander Spain. Opening prayers were given by Comrade Rodgers.

READING, REFERRING MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS:

We have received two membership applications: The membership committee has reviewed and approved both applications for membership, as follows:

  • David Krisha. A motion was made by comrade Brozowski to accept him as a new member of our post, motion seconded by comrade Aukshun, no discussion, motion approved. He will be sworn in at our next meeting on December 12.
  • Earl J. Katigbak. A motion was made by comrade Brozowski to accept him as a new member of our post, motion seconded by comrade Rodgers, no discussion, motion approved.


READING OF MINUTES: The Minutes from the 10 October, 2023 meeting have been posted on the Post website and distributed via email.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by comrade St. Onge, seconded by comrade Brozowski, no discussion, motion approved.


QUARTERMASTER’S REPORT: QM Aukshun informed us that all is good financially. A motion to accept the QM report was made by comrade Aukshun, seconded by comrade Brozowski, no discussion, motion approved.

    A motion was made by comrade Rodgers to accept all committee reports, seconded by

    REMEMBER OUR NATIONAL HOME : A prayer was said by comrade Rodgers in remembrance of our National Home.

    UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

    • The school repair project at the Comprehensive High School in Bontoc, Mountain Province is still on going, although delayed for an undetermined period of time due to some changed activities at the school. Comrade Russian will provide us with updates and continue to monitor its progress.
    • The Moncada classroom construction project at the North Central Elementary School in Moncada, Tarlac is now complete.
    • The Naguillian High School bathroom repair project is now complete thanks to the efforts of comrades Aukshun and Bridges.


    NEW BUSINESS:

      • The post 9892 annual Christmas luncheon will be held on December 12th at Sunset Bay Resort, San Fernando, immediately after our post meeting (approximately 1200). The post will contribute 500 pesos to each active member’s lunch on this date, December 12th.  Family and friends are welcome to join us at their own expense.


    GOOD OF THE ORDER:

      • Commander Spain reinforced the need for members to report all services that they provide in the community, no matter how small.
      • Comrade Mesaros will now fill the Trustee #2 position.
      • CHILI COOKOFF:  This year’s Chili Cookoff will be held at Bella’s annex, same location as last year, on November 25, 2023.  Tickets have been printed, contact Comrade Aukshun for your tickets.  Each member is asked to sell one book of raffle ticket for 5,000 pesos (10 tickets per book).  More will be available upon request.  There will be three cash prizes, 50,000 pesos, 15,000 pesos and 5,000 pesos.  Attached is this year’s CCO invitation letter and entry form.  Let’s send these out to anyone you know that may be interested in participating in this event wives.  We have received this year’s CCO calendars that will be sold at the event.  This year we will have these calendars available in two choices of colors, Blue or Red.
